July PRA Seminar - 12 July 2018

Dates
Thursday, July 12, 2018 - 12:30
Location
CMR 11, Central Meeting Rooms, The Open University, Walton Hall, Milton Keynes, MK7 6AA

Martin Hodges from Care & Repair England will be giving the final PRA seminar of the 2017/18 academic year.  If you would like to attend please register at healthwellbeing@open.ac.uk.

Time: 12.30 - 14.00

Nationally older people report high levels of satisfaction with home modifications provided through the grant funded route. However, demonstrating in a robust way, the full value to the individual receiving the intervention in respect of their personal health and wellbeing and the associated benefits to the health and care sectors remains a challenge for service providers.

The presentation will provide an overview of the routes by which older people receive assistance in modifying their homes in each housing tenure but with a particular focus on the owner occupied sector. There will also be mention of the Catch 22 project within Care & Repair England which attempts to facilitate working partnerships between service providers and academics to address the evidence gap in respect of quantifying the efficacy of home modifications and its contribution to the Ageing Well in Place agenda.
