Thematic Analysis

This session considers how the use of thematic analysis allows the researcher to become familiar with their data whilst at the same time maintaining an objective stance, in order to demonstrate rigour and validity.  The practical workshop will use transcript examples from a previous study framed within the interpretation of a 6-phase process suggested by Braun and Clarke (2006).  Students may wish to bring along examples from their own data and consider the advantages of this approach within the context of their own research.
