Student selection process

All students are required by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) to meet basic entry requirements and go through a selection and interview process.

Employers can decide whether to:

  • carry out their own selection of candidates. Most major employers are likely to have tried and tested procedures and will carry out their own selection. If they choose this option, employers will be asked to provide information about their selection procedures for approval

OR

  • request that The Open University arranges for them to be linked to an agency approved to carry out selection

OR

  • request that The Open University carries out selection in partnership with the employer.
