I am a technology-enhanced learning and community engagement researcher and practitioner. I completed a BA (Hons) in Education Science and Primary Education, University of Athens (Distinction), an MSc in e-learning at the University of Piraeus, Greece (with Distinction) and a Ph.D. degree in Educational Technology, at the Institute of Educational Technology, The Open University, UK.
I am currently working as a postdoctoral researcher with openTEL at the Institute of Educational Technology in the Open University, UK. I am participating in a number of research projects and I am also contributing to European and UK National funding bids for work in openTEL.
My interests revolve around the design of engaging user-centered technologies and community engagement for enhanced interaction and knowledge exchange. I am also interested in citizen science, mobile learning and inclusive education.
My PhD thesis investigated the design of online citizen inquiry communities, recruitment and retaining of members, factors that engage or disengage members from the community, and whether and how members learn throughout their participation: Citizen Inquiry: Engaging Citizens in Online Communities of Scientific Inquiries
I am contributing, as a critical reader, to finalising the learning material in the master module "H819: The critical researcher: educational technology in practice", which is part of the MA in Open and Distance Learning (MAODE).
