Carers research group

This group is made up of people from across The Open University who have an interest in carer research. The lead is Mary Larkin ( We receive regular updates on funding opportunities and in addition to collaborating on research projects, we meet up and work together to share ideas and write papers. These are early days in the development of the group and we are always looking for new members and ideas about other ways we can collaborate. If your work for the OU and are interested in joining us, please contact Mary.

Mary Larkin was invited to give the Keynote speech ‘The legacies of caring’ at the Family Carers Ireland ‘Life after caring’ Conference in Dublin on 18th June.

She also led a seminar on ‘Maximising the potential of carer research and knowledge’, at the Family Carers Research Forum, Dublin on 19th June.
