Professional biography

I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the School of Languages and Applied Linguistics at the Open University. I completed my PhD (Language and Literacy Education) at the University of British Columbia, Canada, where I was also a sessional lecturer and a Killam Laureate. I have an MEd in English Language Education (Tribhuvan University, Nepal) and an MA TESOL with Applied Linguistics (University of Central Lancashire).

Research interests

My primary research focuses on the context of English as a medium of instruction (EMI) in K-12 schools and higher education, in which I explore the issues of multilingual/translingual practices and creativity, diversity and inclusion, language ideology and epistemic (in)equalities, language planning and policy, content and language integrated learning, and teacher education.
