Supporting your studies

In this section we have added some additional information to support you in your studies.  There is specific help here with preparing for and/or returning to academic study We encourage you to explore these resources and any of the links provided.  These include information about health and well-being and will help you to consider what individual support you may need to put in place. 

We have suggested a range of resources that you may find helpful, you may wish to find more locally based resources in your workplace or University.

Psychological wellbeing and support  

Studying may be a stressful time so it is important to learn how to manage stress.  Visit this page for information about managing stress, including self-talk and relaxation techniques audio.   

The mental health organisations Mind and Rethink provide excellent information, support and specific advice via telephone  that may help you.

Disability support

If you have are disabled you may be entitled to assistance and support and should seek advice from your employer/University about how to access an assessment to ensure your support requirements are met. 

Disability Rights UK – they have factsheets on apprenticeships (although not specific to degree apprenticeships) and on HE as well as work and skills.  They also provide advice on disclosure which includes reasonable adjustments.

https://myplusstudentsclub.com/ The site provides opportunities for students with disabilities to connect with employers, receive advice and search for jobs.  They also have several e-books on the following; benefits of being open and how to be open with employers, completing CVs and application forms with a disability and adjustments in the recruitment process, embracing and communicating your strengths.
