Herbi Williams is a Staff Tutor and regional academic at the Open University and is responsible for the delivery of social work programmes in the South West of England alongside stakeholders, focusing on student experience. Herbi has a specific interest in Social Work Practice Education and produces resources to support both Practice Educators and those undertaking their Practice Education Award. Herbi views this work as investment in Social Work and delivers presentations on Social Work theory in practice, supporting students from neurodiverse backgrounds and supporting struggling students. Herbi has worked in Local Authority roles prior to joining the OU, in both adult and childcare statutory roles, as a social worker, team manager and as a practice education lead. Herbi is currently involved in the co -production of a level 2 practice module focusing on the integration of values and ethical social work practice.
Herbi has membership of the Open University’s Social Work Education and Research Group and has an interest in the Social Work History Network. She is currently studying Forensic Psychology with the OU.
