Celebrating that which unifies us: Global and UK perspectives on generic social work education, research and practice

Wednesday 13th July - Friday 15th July 2016

We are delighted that the annual JSWEC conference will be returning to The Open University, Milton Keynes. This year's conference theme will be 'Celebrating that which unifies us: Global and UK perspectives on generic social work education, research and practice'.

This year’s JSWEC theme focuses on the diverse ways social work practice and social work education contributes to positive outcomes for individuals, families, groups, communities and societies as a whole. We wish to learn from the many different facets of our international profession and celebrate the unifying and generic elements that bind us together as social workers and social work educators. From a UK and international perspective we will examine the diversity of social work practice settings, theories, and research that underpins the profession and explore the many different pedagogical approaches used in social work education. We will reconnect with and celebrate the profession’s many strengths while also looking forward to positively influence policy, practice and education in the future.

The JSWEC conference is ideal for social work academics, educationalists, practitioners, managers, policy makers and students.
