Improving wellbeing through digital games

Dr Hannah R. Marson, Research Fellow in the Health & Wellbeing Priority Research Area, and organiser of the upcoming Digital Health & Wellbeing Conference, was interviewed by eldercare.org to discuss how research using digital games and associated technologies has been investigated in the area of health and wellbeing. In the article, she discusses the fact that the need to explore and identify suitable solutions to aid independent living, reduce social isolation and continue active healthy ageing is crucial. Since 2000, the notion of using and deploying technology and digital games for these reasons and more have been the foci of nationally and internationally multi-cross disciplinary research.
