The Centre for the Study of Global Development (CSGD) has released its first annual report, showcasing the Centre's research and accomplishments from August 2022 to September 2023.
The report highlights the launch of the CSGD External Seminar Series, the Centre’s strategic partnerships across the globe, and CSGD Research Hubs and Early Career Researchers’ achievements.
The report showcases how CSGD’s research activities and collaborations generate evidence that advances the Sustainable Development Goals. CSGD Director – Prof Kwame Akyeampong said, “Pivotal to our work is our ambition to generate evidence that informs and inspires policymakers, practitioners and others to take action to improve human wellbeing, particularly for those most vulnerable or marginalised.”
Some CSGD achievements in the last year include partnering with the University of Cape Coast to hold the 3rd International Conference on Education Research for Development in Africa (ICERDA), launching the Poverty and Social Protection Hub, and securing funding from The Open University’s Open Societal Challenges (OSC) to explore young mothers’ mental wellbeing in Ghana.
