I have enjoyed a long relationship with Open University having achieved my BA(Hons) Open in 1998 and working as an Associate Lecturer since 2005.
I am a professionally trained youth worker and have experience of working in the voluntary and statutory sectors, and further education.
I have worked in Higher Education since 2003 teaching Youth and Community Work at Bradford College and the University of Cumbria
I am responsible for tuition delivery in the School of Education, Childhood, Youth and Sport, and am the School Academic Lead for the Student Support Team.
I am a strong advocate for student voice and am a factulty EDI champion.
I gained my PhD from Lancaster University researching work with young people and their families through outdoor education. I continue my commitment to participatory research with children and young people through my membership of the OU Childrens' Research Centre. I am the academic lead on the CRC Pracitioner Research Award for students.
My scholarship interests include developing students as researchers, closing awarding gaps, and online tuition development.
