Professionally Linda is a registered nurse with her expertise being in operating theatre nursing. Linda has significant experience in education, clinical practice and management gained from working in large acute NHS teaching organisations in both England and Wales.
Linda’s passion for the Open University and what it can do to help people positively change their lives, started when she commenced her Batchelor of Science degree studies in the 1980’s. Subsequently Linda became heavily involved in the life of the OU becoming an Associate Lecturer (tutor) teaching on many health, social care, nursing, healthcare science, education and leadership modules.
Latterly Linda gained her Doctorate (EdD) in educational leadership and management with the Open University and has recently co-authored the re-write of the Open University master’s in educational leadership and management programme.
Outside of the OU Linda has participated as a clinical reviewer for several NCEPOD reports, is a Professional Advisor to the Public Services Ombudsman for Wales and is an editorial board member of the British Journal of Perioperative Practice.
Linda currently works at the Open University as the Nation Manager (Wales) for the Health Wellbeing and Social Care school and is a lecturer for the nursing degree programme in Wales. Recently Linda was privileged to be appointed as an academic advisor to the joint BBC/OU production ‘Saving Lives in Cardiff’ aired in August 2024.
