Discharge Education and Caregiver Coping of Pediatric Patients with a Tracheostomy: Systematic Review

Aim: The aim of this review was to assess and synthesize current literature evaluating caregiver education and coping after children were discharged with a tracheostomy.; Background: Tracheostomy tube placement is a transformative event for the child who receives it and the family members who care for the child. As a result, it is imperative to provide caregivers a comprehensive and effective education on how to care for the tracheostomy and how to cope with a tracheostomy.

Moving towards therapists becoming better educators: A commentary on changes in the content of pediatric physical therapy for infants: A quantitative, observational study

Patients and their families have expressed that they want information (Hendricks, 2000) and as a result often turn to Google for health and medical information. Society as a whole is more informed than ever and no longer rely only on medical practitioners as in previous generations. Instead, and rightly so, they question medical experts and want to know the reasoning and rationale behind everything they experience. This combined with the shift towards family-centred principles over the last 20 years underscores the need to provide comprehensive and effective education to families.

Educational intervention for informal caregiver of person with dementia: A systematic review

The role of caregivers is very important in the management of person with dementia, where it is not uncommon for them to experience psychological distress. However, the level of distress can be managed and reduced through strategic educational intervention. A systematic review has been conducted through searching Medline, Science direct, Cochrane library and EMBASE databases to provide a narrative synthesis that elaborate on methods and outcomes of the educational intervention among informal caregiver of person with dementia.

Effectiveness of a Coaching Program for Family Caregivers of Persons with Schizophrenia: A Randomized Controlled Trial

Basic knowledge regarding schizophrenia, having positive attitudes towards it, and possessing the necessary care skills are crucial aspects for caregivers have in order to provide sustainable care for a relative with schizophrenia. Coaching can facilitate successful caregiving through the understanding of a caregiver's knowledge, attitudes, and skills. This study examined the effectiveness of a coaching program in enhancing family caregivers' knowledge, attitudes, and skills related to caring for persons with schizophrenia. 100 primary family caregivers were randomly recruited.

Informal Caregivers' Experiences of Caring of Multiple Sclerosis Patients: A Qualitative Study

Background: Approximately one-third of people suffering from multiple sclerosis (MS) need long-term care by their families, however, we know little of their experiences. Exploring these experiences can be a guideline to improve the quality of care for MS patients. The goal of this study is to explore informal caregivers' experiences regarding care of MS patients. The ELMI online course - an important tool for caregivers in management of Alzheimer's disease patient in Romania

Alzheimer's disease burdens not only the patient, but also the older person's informal (family) caregiver. This burden has been linked to negative health effects for caregivers.
