Background: The interest in outcome measurement in pediatric palliative care is rising. To date, the majority of studies investigating relevant outcomes of pediatric palliative care focus on children with cancer. Insight is lacking, however, about relevant outcome domains for children with severe neurological impairment and their families.

Aim: The aim of this study was to identify meaningful outcome domains of pediatric palliative care for children with severe neurological impairment and their families.

Evaluation of an Online Educational Program for Parents and Caregivers of Children With Food Allergies

Empowering Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Their Families within the Healthcare Environment

Caregivers of patients with ASD have reported dissatisfaction with healthcare experiences due to the lack of healthcare provider confidence, knowledge, and skills in managing the challenging behaviors associated with ASD (Bultas & McMillin, 2016). As healthcare professionals, there is a need for continuous education regarding ASD to increase healthcare provider confidence in working with this population, as well as improve overall healthcare experiences for patients with ASD and their families.

However, how to empower whole families to manage their children's asthma is a challenge that requires innovative nursing intervention based on family-centred care. Caregiver empowerment program based on the adaptation model increase stroke family caregiver outcome

Objective: Post-stroke disability and psychosocial disorders cause burdens for the families of stroke patients, including physical and financial burdens. The physical and psychological health of family caregivers determines the quality of care they provide to patients. The purpose of this study was to identify the effectiveness of the Caregiver Empowerment Program Based on the Adaptation Model (CEP-BAM) in increasing the family caregiver's coping ability against various problems and reducing their burden while caring for the stroke patient.

Consumer expectations of self‐managing aged home care packages in Australia

This study investigated the expectations of older people who chose to participate in a self‐management trial of home aged care packages conducted by COTA Australia. Empowerment theory is used to interpret the findings. All Australian home aged care support packages are delivered using a consumer directed care (CDC) model, and most are managed by an aged care provider. The COTA Australia trial gave older people the opportunity to self‐manage their package and have more control over spending and less constraints on its use.

An empowerment program for family caregivers of people with dementia
