Informal caregivers of older Muslims diagnosed with cancer: A portrait of depression, social support, and faith

Objective: Islamic population constitute more than 20% of the world population and is growing rapidly. Nevertheless, data concerning informal caregiving to older Muslim patients diagnosed with cancer are scarce. Improving the well-being of caregivers is a vital step to optimal care for the patients themselves throughout the Muslim community and the world. This study focuses on a sample of Palestinian caregivers of older Muslim patients diagnosed with cancer living in East Jerusalem, the West Bank, and Gaza.

The moderating role of perceived social support on early maladaptive schemas and well-being for primary caregivers of dementia patients

Objective: This study aims to investigate the moderating role of perceived social support on early maladaptive schemas and well-being for primary caregivers of dementia patients. Method: Ninety-nine adult children as the primary caregivers of dementia patients participated in the study. They completed the measures of Young Schema Questionnaires-Short Form 3 (YSQ-SF3), Caregiver Well-Being Scale, and Multidimensional scale of perceived social support (MSPSS).

Perceived health, caregiver overload and perceived social support in family caregivers of patients with Alzheimer’s: Gender differences

Background: Perceived health in caregivers is related to caregiver burden, psychological well‐being and social support. Women perceive poorer health and are more likely than men to experience caregiver overload.

Perceived social support and health-related quality of life in older adults who have multiple chronic conditions and their caregivers: a dyadic analysis

Patients who have multiple chronic conditions (MCCs) and their informal caregivers experience poorer health-related quality of life (HRQOL). Perceived social support has been shown to influence HRQOL. This study aimed at identifying the differences between patients' and caregivers' physical and mental HRQOL; and determining the association between their perception of social support from different sources, and their own and their dyad partner's HRQOL. Patients with MCCs and their caregivers (345 dyads) were enrolled in a multicenter cross-sectional study conducted in Italy.

Correlates of Perceived Social Support in Chinese Adult Child Caregivers of Parent Stroke Survivors
