The economic costs and its predictors for childhood autism spectrum disorders in Ireland: How is the burden distributed?

Autism spectrum disorders are associated with a substantial economic burden; although little is known about the relationship between state and family out-of-pocket expenditure. The objective of this study is to estimate the societal cost of childhood autism spectrum disorders and explain the variation in costs between state and family out-of-pocket expenditure.

Formal Long-Term Care: Informal Caregivers' Subjective Well-Being and Service Utilization

This thesis aimed to elucidate the role of informal caregiver subjective well-being in explaining formal long-term care service (LTCS) use. A systematic review and meta-analysis of literature found that elevated caregiver burden, caregiver depression, and poorer caregiver health status are associated with increased formal LTCS use.

Hospice Bereavement Service Delivery to Family Members and Friends With Bereavement-Related Mental Health Symptoms

Objectives: A sizable minority of those who lose a loved one in hospice will experience symptoms of bereavement-related mental health disorders. Though hospices offer services to bereaved informal caregivers (family members or friends) of patients, little is known about services offered or interest in them.
