Evaluation of the Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000 part 4

The Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000 (AWI) sets out the system for protecting the welfare of adults in Scotland who are unable to take decisions for themselves. Its aim is to help adults (aged 16 plus) who lack the capacity to make decisions on some or all aspects of their lives. It enables health care professionals, carers or others to have legal powers to make financial, welfare and health care decisions on their behalf.
