Experiences of Cancer Patients on their Visit to Cancer Outpatient Department: A Qualitative Study from a Regional Hospital in Mauritius

Introduction: Cancer care studies suggest that being diagnosed with cancer, the patients and their families face various hardships such as financial crisis, increased mental stress, difficulty in managing their relationships and routine lifestyle activities. Effectiveness of Structured Teaching Programme on the Knowledge about Rehabilitation of Stroke Patients among Caregivers in a Selected Hospital, Kolkata, India

Introduction: Stroke is a major global health problem and second leading cause of death worldwide. In India, the incidence of stroke rate has increased from 56/100,000 person to 117/100,000 person. Stroke rehabilitation is an active process and begins during acute hospitalisation. Stroke survivors may return to an active and productive lifestyle through rehabilitation. Aim: To determine the effectiveness of Structured Teaching Programme (STP) on the knowledge about rehabilitation of stroke patients among caregivers.

The Relationship between Resilience and Quality of Life in Family Caregivers of Patients with Mental Disorders

Introduction: In the past, patients with mental disorders were often isolated, but these patients now-a-days enter the society, as therapeutic interventions have advanced. Family members play an important role in the life of many adults with mental disorders and are under considerable amounts of stress that may affect caregiver's physical health, quality of life and resilience. Aim: The present study aimed to determine the relationship between the resilience and quality of life in family caregivers of patients with mental disorders.

The Relationship between Anxiety and Coping Strategies in Family Caregivers of Patients with Trauma

Introduction: Traumatic events are of high incidence and affect not only the patient but also their family members, causing psychological problems such as stress and anxiety for caregivers of these patients. Therefore, the application of appropriate coping strategies by them seems necessary in order to promote mental health. Aim: To study the relationship of anxiety with coping strategies in family caregivers of trauma patients.
