The Open University's Centre for Literacy and Social Justice team members have experience in creating, leading, organising and evaluating a range of courses and conferences F2F and online.
OpenLearn: the literacy for social justice centre hub on OL encompasses a range of free courses including the popular (children’s lit course).
Annual Reading for Pleasure conferences: underpinned by research and linked to the OURfP work, these Saturday conferences draw together practitioners, student teachers, researchers, consultants, OU/UKLA Teacher Reading Group leaders, authors, and publishers.
Standalone conferences and seminars: over time in response to key social justice issues in the world of literacy we collaborate with others to design conferences to support the profession, facilitate networking and nurture new relationships. Our partners in these initiatives have included: Book Trust, BERA, UKLA, Arvon and The British Library. We are open to new collaborations to share research and explore practice in the world of literacy.
