Background: This paper presents a qualitative study protocol focusing on older peoples' experience of recovery in acute care following hip fracture and also the experiences of their family or informal carers. There is limited evidence regarding older people and their relatives'/carers' experiences of recovery in acute care.; Aim: The study had two research questions.

Background: Caring for a person with first episode psychosis (FEP) is a challenging and distressing task for the carers. The carers' stress in the early stage of psychosis can increase their expressed emotion (EE) while social support is hypothesized to decrease EE.

Dementia-related behavioral symptoms are challenging clinical features occurring across etiologies and disease progression. They are associated with increased healthcare utilization, nursing home placement, family upset and burden. Families typically manage behavioral symptoms without requisite knowledge, skills and guidance. We designed WeCareAdvisor™ as an easy-to-use, evidence-informed web-based platform.

• Swiss hospital experts are aware of particularly vulnerable patient groups.
• Vulnerable patient groups are insufficiently represented in the new SwissDRG tariff structure.
• Swiss hospitals are confronted with the challenges that vulnerable patients pose.
• Experts report macro, meso, and micro level measures to protect vulnerable patients.
• Legislative measures to protect vulnerable patients do not show the desired effect.

Background: Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a leading cause of hospitalizations. Interventional studies focusing on the hospital-to-home transition for COPD patients are few.

Objective: Family caregiver involvement may improve patient and family outcomes in the intensive care unit.
