The Children's Research Centre is all about research with about and led by children and young people. Our primary objective is to empower children and young people as active researchers. The Children's Research Centre recognises that children and young people are experts on their own lives. We value the child's and young person’s perspective and believe in promoting individual voice by supporting children and young people to carry out research on topics that are important to them. The Children's Research Centre is based at the Open University in Milton Keynes. We offer diverse groups of children and young people a taught programme on all aspects of the research process followed by one-to-one support to design and carry out a research project. We also help them to disseminate their research findings and support a variety of outreach programmes. We have links to numerous schools and community organisations nationally and internationally and exist to contribute to the body of knowledge on childhood and children and young people’s lived experiences.
