ACCESS - Approaches in Complex and Challenging Environments for Sustainable SRHR

Status: Completed

There are many complex and interconnected barriers that prevent universal access to sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), especially in countries with the lowest levels of development, and among minority populations in the poorest and most marginalised communities.

To address these challenges, co-ordinated efforts by consortia with provider, advocacy and research experience are necessary.

During 2019-2021, the Open University was part of a consortium called ACCESS (Approaches in Complex and Challenging Environments for Sustainable SRHR) funded by UK aid from the British People.

The consortium was led by the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) and included Frontline AIDSInternews, the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and the Women’s Refugee Commission.
