We coordinate a global network of support for doctoral and postdoctoral researchers working in the open education field.  As part of this, we co-create a range of resources and guidance around research methods, conceptual frameworks, open practice etc. which are consolidated in The GO-GN Open Research Handbook, which is licensed CC BY.

ALPHABETICA seeks to provide effective solutions that allow children and young people from disadvantaged communities access to arts and arts-based education through co-creative participatory research actions.

Reading for Pleasure

Juxtalearn

The Juxtalearn project was setup to help identify barriers to understanding by focusing on creative performance, provoking student curiosity through video making activities that contrast with the standard teaching activities.

Change laboratories for module co-creation with students

Change Laboratories: This project tested a new approach to module co-creation with master’s in education students and staff. Using a Developmental Work Research approach and Change Laboratory method of interactive online workshops, we co-created materials that reflected the diversity of experiences of our student population and gathered student ideas for tasks and activities to be used in the module that reflect students’ diverse ways of learning.

Mending the Gaps with Migrant parents

Originating in Lund University Sweden, Mend the Gap is a participatory approach which we adapted as a new way of co-learning for social work (and other Higher education) students.  This project was with parents of children under five and aimed to promote mutual understanding of parents' experiences and social work support. The project led to collaborating with the Home Office and improved accommodation for single parents in the region.

PowerUs

Established in 2012, PowerUs is a network of countries engaged in co-production, participatory action research and knowledge exchange around strengthening experiential knowledge in Higher Education internationally. As joint international co-ordinator, we support partnerships within over twenty countries, higher education institutions and lived experience-led groups.
