Connecting Communities and Heritages for Climate Action: Art for Action

This is a partnership between third sector and higher education organisations across Nigeria, Kenya and Scotland who are supporting climate activism by young people through arts-based methods for campaigning. Increasingly young people are being invited into co-leadership spaces within the project.

3MPower

3MPower is a research collaboration between The Open University and the Institute of Education and Research at Dhaka University, working in partnership with the Government of Bangladesh and teachers in rural communities and schools. The research explores how e-learning solutions are working on the ground for teachers and learners in marginalised communities.

I-GATE

In collaboration with the government of Zimbabwe, IGATE-T sought to improve the life chances of over 70,000 marginalised girls by supporting their learning and helping them to transition from primary education to post-primary options.

Co-produced online training programme for REAct, a community-based human rights monitoring and response programme which documents and responds to human rights-related barriers that individuals experience in accessing services at community level.

Developing contextually-sensitive Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) for out-of-school adolescents in refugee settings

Qualitative research designed, carried out and analysed by young refugees (peer researchers), alongside staff from Ugandan NGOs and the Open University. Research investigated knowledge, resources and access to SRHR among young refugees in Uganda, to improve the long-term design and delivery of sexuality education.

Taking a pleasure-based approach to Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE)

This project produced a short co-designed course for educators who are running Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) sessions for young people.

Supporting Adolescent Girls’ Education (SAGE)

Accelerated learning programme enabling over 13,000 out-of-school adolescent girls and women to acquire foundational skills in literacy, numeracy and English and to transition back into education, or onto training and/or employment. SAGE materials were co-designed and co-created with partners in Zimbabwe, including Plan and the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education.
